The pair in every pack
Wizards has confirmed that every Play Booster and Collector Booster contains an echoed pair: one card from the Multiverse you know, one from Jace’s reconstruction, often the same character living two lives, with art that can form a panoramic diptych. Fifteen of those pairs also receive full borderless treatments.
That is a critical cataloging distinction. Chandra, Torch of Defiance and Chandra, Chill of Compliance are not the same card. Ajani Resolute and Ajani Unrelenting are not the same card. If your scanner or a marketplace seller listing collapses them to “Chandra,” you will save the wrong printing.

What the set is mechanically
Empower Jace creates (or grows) a Jace planeswalker token — a way to put a walker on the table without opening the mythic. Prepare returns from Secrets of Strixhaven. The marquee Commander product is a four-color deck led by Jace.
Serialized and Special Guests cards, when they appear, are their own printings. Do not file a serialized copy as the ordinary rare.
